  1. Hey guys. I've been having this problem where my 1212 won't record past 40 minutes for a while now and I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. I am using this to record game play from my PS3 and anything under 40 minutes works great. I usually record at most 15 minutes. When I play anything past 40 minutes, like a Madden game or WWE 12, it will only record right up to 40 minutes. TotalMedia Extreme continues to run (doesn't lock up) and the light on the 1212 stays on. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Here are my settings:

  2. FAT file system? How big are your 40 minute files?

  3. The 40 minute file is around 4 GB. I don't think it's a FAT file system. I'm using Windows 7 so I assumed it was NTFS.

  4. Open (My) Comptuter, right click on the C: drive and select Properties. That will show you the file system.

I've recorded much larger files on my computer (XP). Though that was with an older version of the software.

  5. I'm recording to an external HD and it is FAT32! Thanks for that info. Now, with that figured out, can I change it to NTFS without losing any data?

  6. I got it changed thanks to this:

you can switch to NTFS without reformatting your hard disk and restoring your apps and data from a backup. Just choose Start, Run, type cmd.exe, and press <Enter> to open a Command Prompt window. Now type convert followed by a space, the drive letter, a colon, another space, and finally /fs:ntfs. For example, enter convert c: /fs:ntfs if you want to convert your C: drive to NTFS.
    I appreciate your help jagabo!!
