synchronizing mp4 audio

I downloaded a mp4 file (avc+aac2.1) and when I played it, the audio is slightly playing ahead of the video. How can I synchronize it? Is there a software available which would tell me by how many minutes I should delay or forward the audio if it is asynchronized with video?

Try avidemux, under video and audio choose copy, under audio -> shift try different values, save as a new mp4.
