  1. Hello all!

First of all, i'd like to say that i'm a rookie, so please try to be patient

I want to capture video from j-30/sdi deck and i have some questions.

    The system is:

    -OS is vista home
    -4GB ram
    -2TB 7200rpm hard drive
    -Quadro FX 3800 graphics card
-Software is Adobe Premiere Pro CS4

I'll capture from DigiBeta... Video format is MPEG2 and the bit rate should be at least 25mbps. Captured videos will be broadcasted.

So... My questions are as follows:

1- Should I use a capture card or a firewire card? And which card should I buy?

2- What would be the best connection? SDI Super? Composite? Firewire (DV)? S Video?

    Thank you,

    R

if you can't find those maybe the blackmagic decklink sdi card can be purchased where you are.

  4. Thank you... And I definitely can't use the firewire port? I thought Premiere Pro would capture directly from that port. What do you think?

    Cheers,

firewire should work and will capture DVavi, not the uncompressed video. depends on what quality you are looking for, your post said "the best".
