I'm a Music Journalist and I've interviewed a wide range of acts but lately all I've learned to use is Windows Movie Maker. I've been told by various sources that I would need to get other programs i.e. Sony Vegas Pro 8 or Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 in order to get the effects I would like to achieve. So I have done that I have those programs but I wanted to know the precise steps in editing and creating a video interview that's like these,

Notice how they have the line at the bottom of their videos with the person's name and then add various clips in between during the interview. What are the steps to create this video using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.

i think you can do that in movie maker but you need to do a lot of work before hand preparing/editing your videos before putting all together with movie maker but i strongly suggest a program that can do everything from start and one that we can actually understand with a small learning curve.

i reccomend using editstudio for starters as i think its more "straightforward" than the other giants like adobe and sony vegas.

to get those effects: overlay an image for the persons names and then its just a matter of cutting portions of video and replacing with other videos and apllying transitions.

my advice is to test programs out before listening to your buddies and look at price tags....adobe premiere $800, editsudio $80, a biggggg difference and for the sort of work you're going to do is more than enough.

this could also be done with several free tools but it would envolve learning several tools and that requires time.
I love it when a plan comes together!
