Help capturing video

Hey Guys hope you can help me with something. I want to make video tutorials on video and audio editing. So I need to capture video directly in my editing programs.
I have found some programs online that are free but are poor quality video and frame rates. I need something that records high quality video possibly even HD. I have read about using a capture card to do this but don't know for sure. I don't mind spending some money to get setup if its good quality.

If anyone can offer some advice on how to do this it would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

You could use camstudio (free) or camtasia studio . This is all done in software, and you can even use lossless RGB compression if your system is fast enough.

Most people would record lossless, then edit , then re-encode to a delivery format (e.g. for web) . Most free and professional paid tutorials are done like this . The most common delivery format would be h.264/aac/mp4
