I captured clips from my video games with my video camera, but the footage is jerky and seems to jolt every second or so. The problem is in the game itself and not the camera because my computer is not very powerful. I tampered with it for weeks trying to make the game play smooth but in the end I decided to just film it with the choppy playback and think of a way afterwards to edit the video and smooth it out with some kind of editor, tool or plugin. Can anyone suggest a good one to use? I don't even know if this kind of software exists?

Here is a quick sample of the footage I captured. It seems to studder / jolt forward every half second or so. I tried using Vdub to eliminate the duplicate/frozen frames but that just makes the footage jump and looks alot worse.

Here is the footage without any editing done to it.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

  2. I doubt you'll be able to fix that. You can remove duplicate frames if there are any, but you can't really fill in missing frames.

This can all be done in virtualdub
You can blend frame 1 and 2 to make frame 3.(the frames take less time)
    Example of frame blending

This used to be one frame but now it is 5
    How to do this.
    Step 1:
    Open virtual dub
    Step 2:
    open the video or images
    Step 3:
select filters and go toName: example_form_help.png

Step 4: make the filter window like this:
    Name: Filter_example.png

Size: 7.8 KB
Step 5press ok and view the results in the output
    You are done.

  4. That won't give smooth motion in panning shots. And he'd have to manually handle each jerk.

He could use SmoothFPS in AviSynth to generate motion compensated frames in between the frames that border the missing frames. But that would still require a lot of manual steps.
