    - Dukes of Hazzard, but the movie was blah
    - Smurfs, obviously, but have no faith in the CG abortion they're putting together. (The Magic Flute movie came before the series.)
    - Transformers, referring to the 1985 cartoon movie, not the (again) CG abortion with the harlot.
    - Beavis & Butthead

I can only think of 3 (4?) TV series that went to movies that I can think of where I think the movies didn't suck.
    Star Trek
Star Trek Next Generation (this may count as part of the above)
    Firefly
    X-Files

I liked Dukes of Hazzard, Charlie's Angels, Starsky and Hutch, and many others as TV shows, but I didn't think the subsequent movies were worth the price of a movie ticket and when I saw them later on DVD I discovered I was right. They weren't.

I despised X-Files because they made Dallas/Ft Worth look like some redneck desert town, and they mispronounced a bunch of things. Lazy writers/whoever had clearly NEVER been to Texas.

    Hollywood douchebags.

My observation would be that most of the movies would make mediocre 50 minute (or less) episodes, but then they're stretched out to movie length by adding pointless dialog and meaningless action scenes. Having high expectations is not a bad thing. Movie goers should have high expectations and movie makers should try harder to live up to, or exceed them.

With the way tickets prices are rising, pretty soon I'm going to be expecting a free lap dance included in the price.
$11 tickets and $9 popcorn is retarded.

    A 24 movie?

So what is it going to be 12 installments of 2 hours each over 6 years???? They can't recreate the same structure obviously.

Xfiles sortof - the first was ok but the second was abysmal.

Star Trek obviously (all of 'em - I have all 11 on bluray )

    Not much else.......
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

    I'm with you here.
Took the kids to see The Last Airbender this past weekend. End up spent $53.00 for ticket popcorn and drink (this is for the afternoon Matinee). And the worst part of it is that the cartoon version on TV is way much better than the live action movie....

Yep tearren is right it was forgetable.

It was FIGHT THE FUTURE - EDIT - sorry I think it was I WANT TO BELIEVE - FIGHT THE FUTURE was the tag line for the first movie now that I think about it. About some weirdo deal about a body part swapping frankenstein deal.

    It was an absolute sleeper.

Normally I am totally against the movie reviewers who pan virtually every scifi and action movie I like but in this case they were right. It was horrible. I mean it wasn't bad as in poorly acted or produced. It was just a bad story.

What would have worked better for them if they wanted to do this story was for them to do it as a special made for tv mini series. That way they could get all the hype with a smaller budget. Then they could get people to tune into FOX for a few nights and get the media buzz on it.

As it was it was just a sleeper film that might have killed the xfiles in the movie world. Or at least put it in a coma.

I don't know maybe that christopher nolan guy or whoever directs batman begins and the dark knight might be persuaded to tackle the franchise. Or maybe Brian Singer - scratch that I don't want it to be a total action flick - xfiles needs to be brainy as well as a semi-thrill show.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
