Ok. I have tried DVDit, MyDVD, Ulead, and the one that starts with S that you can't buy any more but get the demo.
Anyways, I have almost every Dolby, DTS, THX trailer in .vob format. Downloaded them this way. They play great on power dvd. I'd like to burn these on to DVD or CD and play them in my player but...
DVDit converts half of them and looses AC3, the other half states it the wrong format, but it playes just fine on power dvd loading the straight vob file.
Mydvd, ulead won't touch any of them and states it the wrong format, but it playes just fine on power dvd loading the straight vob file.
the S name does the same as dvdit.
Any ideas guys? Thanks...

extract/demultiplex the mpeg video and the ac3 from the vobsample and name the audio with the same name as the video but with a .ac3 extension and then add the video and the audio will automaticaly be added with spruceup.

I have yet found a way to get DTS into a vob file at all .. i dont even know of any software ( even the super high priced ones ) that will accept DTS ( rumer is maestro .. but that looks like vaporware to me ).
Best thing i have found with dts is to not touch the vob at all and use ifoedit to strip and reindex it .. then burn a VIDEO_TS dir with the vob/ifo's....
now if i could find an easy way to convert a mpg into a vob without having to use a dvd editing program. -
I used IfoEdit to do the same thing preserving AC3 and BTW Maestro is vapoware to me too. I'm a big noob to IfoEdit so instead of the strip and rebuild IFO I used the idiots guide that leaves the naming conventions the same.
To get MPG to VOB you can use just the format conversion tools within VideoPack5 without having to compile a DVD. -
ah .. yet another program that costs almost 2X the price of the hardware. looks like i'm back to useing "unlocked" parts of 2 or 3 demo programs just to make one or 2 vobs *sigh*
is their a demo of videopack? .. i couldnt find one on roxio's site.
