I searching for a camcorder with easy direct copy for video files from the camera hard disk to the PC. MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 or other standard format. In the price range from US$ 200 to 400.
What read here from the forum and other forums, the video files have often specific formats/file extensions.
It would be nice the video files could be used with no conversion/converter in VLC, Windows Media Player and Windows Movie Maker.
The Panasonic SDR-H80 http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-camcorders/panasonic-sdr-h80-blue/4505-6500_7-33529333...?tag=mncol;lst
is interesting because of the 70x optical zoom and harddisk. A google search brings up many questions arround the tranfer of videos and converting is often the offered solution. However here http://forums.cnet.com/5208-7594_102-0.html?threadID=346277 is simply recommended to rename the extension from .mod to .mpg.
I look for a camera to be used in school environment, to be used by teachers and students. Easy to use for recording, easy transfer the video to the PC, playing in standard media players.
I looking forward to your honest comments and recommendations.
Thanks
Leo
