ok guys currently i have alot of m2ts videos, and i need to convert them so that my 360,ps3 and a dvd player will play. So far i converted the m2ts to mp4 using any video converter and it works good on my 360 but the ps3 does not read it, but it reads the m2ts files but my sound freezes up and gets cut like every second, idk why, and another question is what format do most dvd players read, i want to keep the quality high at least 1280 x 720 or 1080 x1920 if possible. the mp4 file that i had converterd was 1080 and it worked sweet on my 360.
one more question what are the formats that give the highest quality available after conversion, like what should i convert my m2ts videos to is mp4 the best or what other formats can i try to see if itl work?
and thanks guys

Any Video Converter does just that - it converts. You could use something like YAMB to repack the files into an MP4 container without re-encoding.
DVD players (as opposed to Bluray or hybrid or media players) are resolutely standard definition. Even for non-DVD content like AVI files, most are restricted to 720 width or less, and very few play mp4/H264 (although this is changing). For HD content, and DVD players is simply a non-starter.Read my blog here.

hmm okay so basically you cant play hd on dvd player even if you convert, so its either the 360 or the ps3 to play the hd rite? now for the ps3 how can i change the sound maybe to stereo or sumthing cuz the sound freezes for me when i play the m2ts file, or maybe i can convert it to something that the ps3 should play, do you kno whats the best quality format the ps3 supports, either way i try to fit it on a dvd disc,

it says that the ps3 supports H.264/MEPG-4 AVC and i converted it to mp4 with video codec x264 is that the same thing, cuz when i tried to play it it said video not supported ??? any idea

actually this is what i converted it to mp4 video codec x264 and audio acc, ima try ac3 for the ps3 i think that should work. uhh

Start from the beginning.
What is in the mt2s file ? Use Mediainfo to tell you how the video and audio are encoded. I suspect that it will be PS3 compliant, and most likely H264 video.
Using Any Video Converter does two things. First, it does a low quality encode. It is simply not a high quality encoder. It has it's place, but HD is not it.
It also doesn't allow for much configuration, and obviously it is not configured to produce PS3 compliant files.
If you must convert, try Xvid4PSP (5.0.36/37) or MeGUI instead, and use the PS3 profiles.
Secondly, what are you playing the files from ? If you are playing from cheap DVD media then you could have all sorts of issues. If you are streaming across a network you could have issues with HD material.
You need to start by understanding what you have, and where your problems lies, before jumping into a fix.Read my blog here.

alright well i will try that xvid4psp converter and ill let you know how it goes, and thanks for all the help, and thanks for explaining that a dvd resolution i thought that wen u convert the format u can still let it be hd, so u cant burn a dvd format, i see now, so in order to play hd or high quality i have to convert it and play it on the 360 or ps3. once again thanks.

Because the PS3 is a very capable BluRay player, you could use Multi-AVCHD or AVCHDCoder to create a AVCHD structure which you can burn to DVD with Imgburn. This will be HD, but the XBOX wont play it.

so this is wat i want, i want to burn it to dvd disc 4.7gb max, i want it to be high quality , hd, and i want to play it on ps3, 360 and dvd player but its not possible for dvd players to play it, so it leaves 360 n ps3, now using that xvid how shuld i set up my configuration, so that the movie is in the highest quality and best sound?

okay well i converted a video using xvid and the ps3 reads it but the 360 does not i dont understand why when i specifically chose to convert to ps3/xbox360, what em i doing wrong?
