OK, this is driving me to drink. Just when I thought everything was right in the world...

I try, in vain, to make my first (one and only) PAL VCD disc. So far everything else I do is NTSC, but this was to be a test disc to see what my player does with a PAL format movie...

Well, so far bad luck. TSCV allows me to make perfect SVCD's with chapters every time... but refuses to make a normal PAL VCD!

It's 25 frames/sec, PAL, MPEG-1, STANDARD VCD BITRATES. I fill out all the necessary fields to make TSCV happy and make the bin/cue... and it says something about "PBC NOT AVAILABLE WITH THIS FORMAT" and stops.

Near as I can tell, I'm not using PBC. I simply added an MPEG to the "Menu" screen (no other way to insert your movie). Then I left everything else alone and clicked "create bin/cue".

    What am I missing here?

ANSWER: The klunky, but effective, VCDImager GUI program. It simply doesn't ask about PBC, and "VCD 2.0" isn't blocked out.

Tried it, it does play. Never mind.
