    I have no idea what to call this box but im looking for a device to hook up to my TV that will work like my XBOX360s media center.

    Does this exist and what is it called?

    This device should hook up to my wireless network, and have HDMI outputsm and play .AVI .Divx .xvid etc from whats saved on my computers hard drive.

    I heard apple tv is kinda like this but I dont have anything apple so that doesnt work for me.

    The WDTV Live will do what you want, and there are many other similar media players available. (maybe it's time for a list on the site).

    The WDTV Live needs a separate wireless adapter. (list)

    Asus O'play Air - has wireless built in. I have one, latest firmware (1.09n -in US) makes this thing rock. Plays .iso files just like a DVD. Plays all file types that you listed.
