Hello again. Just recently, I became aware of, and involved with, the Lunettes branch of VLC's development. Lunettes is an improved GUI for VLC for those of you who don't already know. The developers -- Pierre and Felix -- appear to be very dedicated to moving the Mac version of VLC forward, at least in the GUI arena. I would like to encourage everyone here to become involved with Lunettes and give them your support.
One thing that you can do is to open a free account on the github.com website, and then you will be able to submit issues on Lunettes' issues page at this URL:
http://github.com/pdherbemont/Glasses/issues
You can report bugs, make feature requests, vote on other issues that have already been posted by others, etc.
Of course, if you know how to use Xcode, you can be of even more help to Felix and Pierre in making the Lunettes branch of VLC even better.
Thanks!
