I have a 5.5g iPod Video and supposedly it only supports video up to 640x480. I am using MeGUI to encode DVD to h.264. In the AVS Script Creater, I select auto crop, do not check resize, and select anamorphic- resize to mod16. When the encode is done, I mux the video and audio with mp4box. I now have a movie with the same resolution as the DVD. The file does not transfer to my iPod if I use iTunes, but it will if I use SharePod. The video plays fine and all appears ok. How is this when the specs on my iPod claim to only play video up to 640x480? Since it plays fine without resizing, shouldn't I just leave out resizing on all of my encodes and have a better quality movie for viewing on a TV using TV Out? Is there something I'm overlooking?

    Thanks

I was doing some reading on Ipod resolutions/bitrates last week (got a new nano for my birthday ). The only thing that I saw that spoke to this at all were the 5th and 20th comments to this guide.

I haven't really messed with higher resolutions myself since they don't really matter for the screen size of the nano.
