The last few DVD's that I have backed up using Rip it for me and DVD shrink appear to be done/completed normally. However, when played back on a Sony player, the scene's seem to jump all over the place. It will play for 5-10 minutes fine, then go to the credits and jump to the middle and then to the end and back to the beginning. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix or something I am doing wrong?

I am new here, so I hope I am not breaking any rules by asking this question. If I am, delete the post and notify me by email on file and it will not happen again.

  2. Welcome to the forum. Your question is quite common.

You probably have a disc with a sneaky copy protection on it. Let me guess, a Sony or Disney release? Wall-E, for example, was similar.

The usual answer is to try the latest DVDFabHDDecrypter (free). It gets updated from time to time to deal with new protections.

If it were me, I'd use full disc mode (fab sometimes gives odd results in movie mode). Then open the rip in DVDShrink, if it doesn't complain, it probably okay.

If you name the specific movie(s), someone else could likely give advice or relate what works. Good luck.

Thanks for your response. One movie is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and another is The Proposal. I've had a few others. I know 2 of them were disney.

All relatively or very recent. You are using tools that haven't been updated in several years on discs that have much newer copy protection.

As recommended above, get the free DVDFab HD Decrypter and rip with that instead.

Thanks for your help, guys. I downloaded it but haven't tried it yet. I'll repost if I have problems.
