Just a minor rant here.
I tried saving 5.00 on an extra nunchuck for my Wii. I saw the Nyko nunchuck was 15.00 instead of 20.00 for the official Nintendo nunchuck controller. I thought sure why not?
Well the "why not" is that it doesn't work with the Wii Plus adapter. I have two Wii Plus adapters and it did not work with either. I tested them with Wii Sports Resorts and the archery module. The wiimote worked just as usual but when it says use "z" button to draw the bow nothing happens.
The darndest thing is it detects when the nyko chuck is disconnected from the wii motion plus adapter.
Is this a new drm that Nintendo developed to thwart third party manufacturers?
Now I will say I don't have a nyko branded wiimote. I have two "original" nintendo branded wiimotes. It's possible but doubtful that the nyko nunchuck would work through the wii motion plus when used with a nyko wiimote. However I would be doubtful.
I'll be taking it back to bestbuy and spend the extra 5.00 for an "official" nunchuck.
That's a shame if Nintendo is blocking out third party manufacturers.
End of minor rant....
EDIT - It does work with the "traditional" non wii motion plus games in nunchuck mode. So its not completely worthless. I tested it with the Links Crossbow Training game with the "wii zapper" peripheral. The z button worked perfectly in that game without the wii motion plus adapter. So it does work on non plus games.
