  1. Hi, I am looking to setup something that is connect to my receiver and/or TV to just play my music. Wondering if any one has any suggestions? I have a Yamaha 765 Receiver and Samsung 7000 series LED TV. I gotta imagine I could build a micro pc and connect it directly to my TV & receiver? Any help is appreciated!! Thanks!

What format's your music in? Do you need a graphical interface for indexing or just a audio player?

I think the 7000 series TV plays mp3's directly from a USB flash card plus it has DLNA connectivity.

The Philips 5990/5992 DVD player plays music (many formats) directly from a hard drive or USB card. It will output digital S/PDIF to your receiver and HDMI or analog to the TV. Got mine for $49.99 at Costco.

  4. Thanks for the responses. I have a Samsung ( BD-P1600 ) Blue Ray player allready, I was did try the usb option on the tv but I would only hear the sound from what ever was on tv even though I was in the TV's media mode for playing music via USB. All my music is in mp3 format. I have about 60 gigs. I was wondering if there was an easy way to have a small form facter pc or something connected to my receiver or TV?
