    Hi,

I have a problem when I hook up my laptop to my PC-screen. The colors on the screen get a red glow. The screen only has a DVI-in and the laptop has HDMI-out and therefore I have use DVI cable with a DVI-to-HDMI converter. The laptop is a Acer Aspire 6920G (Running Windows Vista) with a GeForce 9500M GS graphic card and the PC-screen is a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW.

I have tried another PC-screen also using a DVI cable with a DVI-to-HDMI converter – still the red colors (And the Samsung screen works perfectly when connected to another PC I have with a DVI-out port).
I have tried connecting the laptop to a TV flatscreen using a HDMI cable – perfect colors.
I have tried every adjustment possible in NVIDIA control panel (v1.5.700.58 and driver version 175.61) - still the red colors.

I have read about something with Full and limited numbers of colors on the RGB scale being sent from a HDMI port but as I understand the problem it should resolve in black and white being off. For me the colors are getting red and I cannot find any setting to adjust the number of colors sent through the HDMI port so I cannot test if that is the problem. Also the red colors is not there when windows is starting up but they come as soon as the log-on screen is shown

Any ideas on what is going on?

That sounds like a driver problem. Did you try adjusting the desktop color settings in Nvidia Control Panel? Also try updating to the latest WHQL certified drivers from Nvidia.

It turns out that there were a new reference driver available directly from nVidia and it solved the problem.
I had only looked at the acer site and there the drivers is a year old Only noticed that now.

Thanks for making me look one more time for a new driver
