I have taken a good look on the HP site, unable to find any info regarding the chipset. I am looking at this mobo, thinking of buying ..but.. unable to establish whether it has an Intel 845 or 865 chipset. I would appreciate advise from any member who knows.

Why not do a live chat at the HP website? I did a google and it seems the mobo is a Asus but there were different models. I did read that it depends on the serial number of the mobo as well. If you could get the serial number of the mobo your search could be narrowed down. I'm on my way to work so I can't provide much right now. I'm sure other members will be able to assist you.

  3. google searches seem to indicate most people think it's a custom intel 865 chipset board, but some a custom sis chipset m.b.

do you have the computer? if it's running the intel chipset identifier will give you the answer.

    Hi budz & minidv2ddvd,

No, I do not have access to the mobo to check the chipset however, I do know it's an Intel board. If it is an 865, I will buy. I agree budz, it does look like an Asus board. I'll try to get the serial number and I'm inclined to think it is an 865, that said, I would like to have that confirmed before buying.
