I have noticed on a few instances I have created a VCD or SVCD on a RW using Nero (latest version) and can't erase the cd. This even happened on brand new RW cds. Is it the disk or is my burner going bad? Or could it be Nero? Any one else ever had this problem?
Thanks,

Have just installed 5.5.7.2 and have done a few VCDs and mp3 discs and erasing was ok,what id suggest is try another program first to see if its your writer but if your writers burning a disc then it should easily quick erase! check aspi on your pc too and DMA mode if your writer supports it worth a try if nothing else comes up.

I dont have the plugins installed i have several plugins on my hard drive but i find mp3 i just copy the files using data cd mode,so long as the filenames are correct it works fine in my mp3 cd player,i only use mp3 in the car it recomended not using software to creat discs just data mode.So i use easycd ripper I find this the best software to rip CDs to mp3,and most of my mp3s over 3000 tracks have been downloaded.
I do find nero is the best for VCD creation,it doesnt do PS1 games i use PSX2000 to make copies of games,it even copies a non working game somehow into a working one.
Sorry if this post hasnt been useful -
I had the same problem with 2 brand new CDRWs. I thought it was my drive since NERO nor Easy CD would format/blank it. That was until I found SuperBlank, which amazingly fixed both CDs.
Do a search in www.google.com for superblank and look for version 2.0, (there is a version 3 but I haven't tried it and the owner's site recommends version 2 for fixing bad CDRW)
Good Luck-------------------------------------------

I downloaded Super Blank v2 and it will only detect my Nero Image drive and not the real RW drive. I even installed the latest Adapetc ATPI layer.
