Attempting to split AC3 channels into seperate files. I will adjust each file's volume / equalizer and re-multiplex.
Can't seem to find a low priced software suite that will do the job.
Tried to purchase AC3 Pro Tools but they never sent "Registration ID / Unlock Key". Assume they are out-of-business or no longer distributing software.
Sony's Vegas is out of my league for package use "life-span".

The audacity beta (free) can do this with 6ch AC3, and adjust each channel , but you have to set it up properly in the configuration with ffmpeg to export as AC3, otherwise you will be limited to 6ch wav
You can also do this for free with eac3to, or avisynth based methods
Eitherway, you will have to re-encode -
You can do multi-channel in AviSynth. I just wrote about this today in another thread. To split the audio into five or six mono wavs, you can use AviSynth. Then use Aften to re-encode to 5.1 AC3.
In AviSynth, check into the following function:
getChannel
I forgot to mention. Get the NicAudio plugin for AviSynth so you can open the ac3 file in AviSynth.

(Note: I edited this post to remove reference to slowing down the framerate... which was needed in the other post I mentioned above.) -

You have no idea how much time / trouble / and money you have just saved me. I have been searching for weeks for this feature.
PURPOSE:
To adjust 5.1 back-ground channels.
EQUIPMENT:
Sony SR-11 Handy-Cam with remote mic.
Problem:
Mic recorded wedding vows (LF / RF) and camcorder recorded Surround (C / LFE / LR / RR) guests noise. However, Surround seems to have same volume as front channels thus "drowning out" the ceremony.
SOLUTION:
Split into seperate files, adjust accordingly, re-assemble into original format.
AGAIN......Thank You so much for your kindness
