I'm trying to decide on the processor.

    Intel® Celeron® processor 900
    or
    Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core processor

I know all in all the dual-core is the better choice. But the Celeron has improved a lot, coming out with the 900 which has pretty good performance.

    What are your thoughts?

Get a Core 2 Duo E5200 cpu which is much better than a celeron. There's not much price difference between a celeron and the E5200. For a few bucks more the E5200 is the best bang for the buck!

I just used a E5200 cpu for a mini itx system because it runs cooler than my E6400 cpu which is a 65nm cpu. All the celeron's are 65nm which will give off more heat than E5200 cpu which is 45nm.
    Just my 2 cents!

  3. budz: it's a laptop

ally68: Get the dual core. Laptops are not easy to upgrade later if at all.
Down the road you will wish you had more speed. My rule of thumb on laptops is get the best you can afford.

    Cheers

^^^she didn't have the title as a laptop when she first posted it? Unless I didn't see correctly because I was using my mini itx system on the 32 inch LCD TV and I didn't have my glasses on!

    Intel® Celeron® processor 900
    Features a 800MHz frontside bus, 1MB L2 cache and 2.2GHz processor speed

The speed is right up there with the dual-core.
