I connected a external hard drive to an ordinary DVD player with USB, however, I wasn't able to play the contents of the hard drive. I read that the external hard drive must be Fat32 and that SwissKnife can do this. Will this solve the problem?
Should I make the entire external hard drive to be Fat32, or just one partition to be Fat32?

I would do the whole drive. Partitions are a PITA for this type of application, as far as I am concerned.

Not all DVD players with USB will connect to a hard drive. Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
