xvid to vob to dvd issues

I have an xvid I transcoded using the dvd profile in xilisoft converter and ended with a vob file
I didn't want to make a vob larger then dvd-r capacity so I had to use the bitrate adjuster so the final output was 4200mb, I know its less than full capacity but wanted to not have to re-do transcoding for being over.

I tried playing the vob in wmp, (I have klite codes), it won't play. I tried burning the vob with infrarecorder using the dvd video project button and it wont start.

I'm pretty much stuck. I'm unsure if infrarecorder is good for what I'm attempting nor sure if the vob is any good.

any suggestions

Use DVD Flick instead. Just a vob file is not a dvd.

And play vobs/dvd using vlc instead of wmp.

I ended up using adobe encore even burned the disc for me
