Xenon MKV Help Pls

Hi Everyone

I'm trying to covert a MKV file in Xenon MKV and this error is appearing:-

Failed to open MPEG file video.mpg
Error importing video.mpg: BitStream Not Compliant

Could anyone please help me out with how to fix this one.

XenonMKV is for MKV files containing H.264 video.

It looks as though your MKV file could contain MPEG video. You need to scan the MKV file using mediainfo and post the results here.

Yep, thought so MPEG2. You will not be able to convert this file using XenonMKV.

How were you planning to view the MKV file, I assume that since you were using XenonMKV that you are planning to use an Xbox 360 or something?

You could convert it to XviD using something like Xvid4PSP.

Yes I was going to watch it on the Xbox360. Do you think that is still possible with another app that will preserve the HD?

You could convert it to an HD XviD (AVI) or MP4 file, both which the 360 should play with no problems.

XviD4PSP will convert it to AVI, and Handbrake or EncodeHD will convert it to MP4.

To play AVI or MP4 on the Xbox 360, you need to be able to connect to Xbox Live to get the codecs.

If you can't connect to Xbox Live, then Encode360 will convert it to WMV, but will take forever to do it...
