  3. Oh!! Nice!! But why is there sometimes when I see some shows on the net in mkv format, there is always:

x264.720p.MKV or something like that? why is there not just H.264?

Thanks for letting me know about x264!

There's a list of conversion programs here and most have the H.264 codecs included. https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/dvd-to-mp4-avc-h264

MKV is the name of the container format. It can have H.264/X.264 codecs within it, or others. H.264 is also called AVC (Advanced Video Coding) More info at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC

H.264 is a video format, x264 is an implementation of this video format and MKV is container that can wrap video and audio.

Think of video as fruit juice.
    H.264 is orange juice.
x264 is a brand of orange juice (which is actually free).
MKV is a type of glass (which actually suitable for this type of juice).

x264 is particularly good at creating decent quality at small file sizes, which is an advantage when distributing content online.
I hate VHS. I always did.
