I did a quick search for this one but came up empty.

I know that the the mpeg2 quicktime decoder is available in the quicktime alternative version 1.81.

However, when I go to the total training website that has embedded quicktime files needed to be played, this wont play and tells me I need to update quicktime. Same with itunes.

Fair enough.

Now, I want to know is it possible to leave the component of this mpeg2 decoder in the version 1.81 on the pc yet update quicktime??

I dont think so, but worth to ask. Someone might know.

If not I guess Ill just pay the $20 (or more than that in Aussie Dollars) and get the official mpeg2 add on to quicktime from the apple site.
