    I have have put together my own SVCDs with multiple clips using Nero, but it inserts a 5 second pause between each.

    Does anyone know of a way to eliminate that pause?

    After you drag and drop the file into the "burn" window, right click and select properties... You can change the delay to whatever you want. 2 seconds is what I use.

    Maybe try Ulead Movie Factory...these are not true chapters, but I don't think Nero chapters are either.
