  1. Please help. My SVCD plays fine on my home DVD player. On my computer, I can't copy the MPEGs from my SVCD or even play them. What is going on?

First thing are you using a dvd player like power dvd or windvd on your computer to try and play the svcd you created?
Second you should be able to insert cd into rom and browse disc.
Find a folder called MPEG2 you should see a file called AVSEQ01 that is your mpeg file

  3. Thanks for the fast reply. After restoring the virtual device driver SCSI1HLP.VXD in Window's \SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS directory, I've been able to copy the MPEGs from the SVCD to my computer. As far as playing the MPEGs, I have PowerDVD version 2.55. Do I need a later version? Can these MPEGs ever be converted back to anything else?

    Thank you,

    Jason

Glad to hear you figured it out your power dvd version should be fine.
And sure you can convert your mpeg to another format just click on convert an the left of the page and the guides will explain how to do it.

  5. Well, I didn't figure it all out. I can copy the files over, but they still won't play.

  7. OK, I'll try to get that one. Thanks for your suggestion.

I couldn't find any info on converting SVCD MPEGs back to other formats in the "convert" section of VCDHELP. I basically just want the option of converting it to AVI to do editing in Premiere.
