    It does not finish compacting messages, it displays a warning that folder is in use by some other program

    That's not the point, I know that I can click OK, in fact I do that everytime, and the process will finish. My concern is that the OE folders might be in use by some other program as the sign suggests.

    It could be your antivirus program, if you have email scanning enabled.
