So, I found this DVD player in my parents' house and it was BRAND NEW. Sitting in its box for 12 years. Sealed and everything. When I got it out, It didn't play any discs and after some tinkering inside and cleaning the lens with isopropyl alcohol, It playes CDs great. DVDs however, say loading for a really long time and then comes up with "This disc cannot be played, please check the disc". Burned CDs and video CDs also don't play. I checked with my phone's camera and the DVD laser DOES work, so what gives? I already tried making it region free and it didn't solve the issue. I can't see any potentiometers on the laser's board. Any help would be appreciated.
