I would like to burn the Olympics that I recorded in my DVR into DVDs but w/o the commercials. Can anyone suggest how I should do that best?
I'm thinking of burning them into a DVD-R in segments at a time then editing out the commercials in the computer then combining the main event from 2 DVD-Rs into 1.
But then I don't even know how to do that.
Thanks all

Sounds like you mostly need a MPEG editor. One method is to use a program to extract the MPEGs in the VOBs from the burned DVDs. VOB2MPG can do that. Then you use a MPEG editor to cut out the commercials. I would recommend something like VideoReDo or MPEG-VCR for a inexpensive solution. There are a few freeware MPG editors like MPEG Streamclip or Cuttermaran, but the payware programs may be easier to use.
Finally, author them to DVD format and burn. GUI for dvdauthor and ImgBurn are a couple of freeware ways to do that.
There are other programs and methods and others here may be able to give you some better suggestions.
