Have you tried latest anydvd beta also?

    From the changelog:
    6.4.7.0 2008 09 23
    - New (DVD): Added support for new protections, e.g.:
    "Leatherheads", US

DVD Shrink and RipIt4Me have not been updated in years and thus cannot handle some current protection methods. DVD Shrink was abandoned because its creator was hired by Nero to work for them. RipIt4Me's author was given an offer he could not refuse to abandon the project and turn over the source code less he face a potentially ruinous lawsuit. AnyDVD and DVD Fab HD Decrypter will both eventually be able to handle Leatherheads and based on Baldrick's post, it looks like the latest AndDVD beta already can.

the latest dvdfab WILL rip leatherheads, but load it into dvdshrink and click 'reauthor' and things get strange... the main movie dissappears! it is contained in vtst 27, title 34, but it doesn't even show the title number in shrink. if you try to reauthor, the main movie IS NOT present in vtst 27, and the titles stop at number 33! very strange! new protection i assume...

Like TooLFooL, I was able to rip with DVDFab HD Decrypter (version 5.0.9.5 I think) but once I tried to use Shrink everything went south ! After repeated failed attempts to extract the main movie only with AnyDVD/CloneDVD2, DVDFab Platinum, and 1clickdvdcopy/AnyDVD or DSVD43, I used the rip from DVDFab HD Decrypter and transferred to a Verbatim dual-layer +R.

To be clear; I was able to accomplish a movie only rip, but the transfer to a DVD5 produced a disc that was either unplayable (DVD player wouldn't recognize it) or a finished product that was recognized by the player would jump tracks and fail to reverse scan in the final three or four chapters.

    My results.

    Ripped with Fab ver 5.09...
Went to shrink same thing as above.
    So, went to DVD2one 152.
Ripped the main movie but it wouldn't include the last chapter
    that only contained the credits

Good link. From what I can gather, the way to deal with this protection actually looks familiar. To wit:

Rip full disc with DVDFabHDDecrypter -> Run FixVTS -> Open in DVDSHrink. Hit Reauthor, drag the title over, then hit Set Start/End Frames and trim the junk off the beginning of the movie. There have been a number of Sony/Columbia releases requiring that procedure, at least until AnyDVD and/or DVDFabHDDecrypter get fully updated to deal with a specific movie. Like Casino Royale, for instance.

BTW, is that movie any good? I'm tempted to get it to play with.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

After having problems trying to back this disc up, I took Baldrick's advice and loaded the beta version of anydvd. This worked fine and after ripping it and then using dvdshrink, I have a playable disc!

This real, legal DVD won't even play on my almost-new Magnavox DVD player. It's a shame I have to rip and burn a new copy just to watch a legitimate DVD. All Universal is doing is ticking off their legitimate customers and losing of money in returns. I wonder if they even intend to fix this problem, or if they have no compassion for older players? Maybe this is all a plan to get people to switch to Blu-ray and controlled downloadable content.
