I have a few of thes Breakout cables and have searched my bum off on the internet, hours and hours, days and days. I can't find any anywhere. I need to know what they are called and what they do exactly. Please help. I can attach a picture. Someone please tell me the name of this breakout and if I need a capture card to use it.

This is a very strange cable, my friend.
So most camcorders come with an AV or DV cable that has male RCA jacks on the output end for plugging into a standard TV or VCR; it looks like the purpose of this cable is to let you plug into the back of a monitor or VGA-enabled HDTV and connect a source to it for playback (judging by the fact that the RCA and XLR extensions are female ends).
Might be a nice item to have in your bag of tricks.
