  1. ok, i have been thinking of this since vcd and svcd menus are nothing like dvd menus and i wonder if this is possible-
On dvds, there has to be the files used to control ALL the menus on there and it shouldnt take up that much room at all by my hopeful theory.

    Is this possible-
To copy ALL info about a dvd except for the actual movie(vob) and use all info bout the menus and import it into a svcd compilation but before doing that, edit it out with notepad for example and change what mpgs or vobs load(in this case, mpg) and where to load them at in the menu.

    Would that be possible?

  2. I Highly doubt it, VCD/SVCD are NOT like DVD, the entire menu structure is diffrent, and they are not capable of the same features, it's a limitation in the format, nothing you can do about it.

  3. AHHH

Thats what i hope i wasnt gonna hear!

    Well, ok just wondering.

Hey sefy, even though this isnt the dvd ripping forum, i just thought i'd tell u somethin real quick.

I've been testin and testin on encodin into svcd from d2v dvd rip and this is my only 2 conclusions-

1, either each movie is gonna be put on 2 cds or hold around 80 min per cd cuz i was able to last night encode pretty close flawlessly at 1600 and,

2, i have also noticed if i encode a movie in svcd standard then take that file and reencode it again at a low bitrate(IE-1000), the quality does not suffer.
That process is a lot of trouble but im still workin on it

  4. Well, i'll wish you good luck on that project Sean
I'm sticking to VCD, lots of my friends don't have DVD's capable of playing SVCD, not even variants, i'm forced to convert some of my SxVCD's to VCD just so they can play it too, so for me, VCD is the only way to go
(not to mention my girlfriend has a standalone VCD player!)
