Hi, I know this topic has been on the forum but I haven't been very successful finding the answers.

I have a P4 2.4g on Asus p4s800mx SE and I am having trouble with the connection from VGA to VGA PC to my LG 42" plasma, I get the logo screen and also the windows XP loading screen but when it should go to the welcome screen or to windows desktop it comes up with NO SIGNAL.
The manual for the TV says 60hz and 1024 x 768, I have checked this and it is on these settings, the picture for the logo screen and the xp loading screen is 100% then no signal.
I did have a gforce 6600 256 card in and I removed that and went back to the on board SIS video supply and no change.
I thought this was going to be straight forward and after a while of trying this and that I am ready to throw the pc in the pool

    Any assistance would be appreciated

it's probably not the fault of the PC, rather how the LG handles the VGA connection. refresh rates and screen resolution have to match. My LG plasma works very well with a gforce vga DVI connection, but won't work with the vga output of my laptop. Sometimes if a vga card has dual-monitor capabilities, you have to change the vga output to monitor 1 or monitor 2 in the software before u get the correct output to the TV

  3. The logo screen when you boot your computer is something like 640x480 at 60 Hz. It's not until Windows starts up that the resolution and refresh rate will change.

I would hook up a regular monitor and switch to different resolutions and refresh rates then move the cable (with the computer still live) from the monitor to the TV until you find a combination that works. Try 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200 all at 60 Hz or 75 Hz.

thanks for those suggestions I will give them a go when I have a spare hour or so, I would love to get it working just so I can stream from my computer to the tv, which is in a different room. I will reply with the results.
    Thanks
