So I like everyone else here have tons of audio and video cables laying around. I also have lan cables and power strips and the like.

What is a good way to store these neatly and efficiently?

I'd like to try to keep them organized and kink free preferably. I don't really want to buy any furniture type appliance. If you have ideas like coiling them around somthing I'd appreciate it.

    Links are welcome too.

These donut shaped organizers are popular. Just wind the cable around the center post and it stays put. http://www.cyberguys.com/templates/searchdetail.asp?productID=11210

Or get lots and lots of wire ties.

My cables always start out organized, but moving stuff around tends to ruin that fairly soon.

I fold my cables up neatly and secure them with a wire tie in the middle - I do not wind some of the wire around the folds because it holds the coil shape when it is unwrapped. I store them in a box in the closet where they are easily accessed.

@jagabo and supreme2k - that's not a bad idea either. Cheap and easy. PLus if you get the larger bags you can store more. Not to mention many have that little labeling area where you can put descriptions if you want. Though usually the shape of the plug is a big clue

"Sterilite" clear plastic stackable containers with lid. Many different sizes avaliable. Look into container to see what's inside. You can also label them. BigLots! has the best prices. I've also purchased some from WalMart.
