My dad recently purchased Yamada PVR-9300HX. At first I didn't realise it was + recordable only, so formatted a DVD-RW disc. Recorded a minute or so, only to discover it would not play the recorded video. The thumb nails showed up, but they wouldn't play. Understandable when I realised it could record to + only. However, putting in a DVD+RW Philips disc in, it would not recgonise the format, it displayed a URD message. Assumed the disc contained data the machine could not read. Fully erased the disc in my computer, but it still could not recognise it. Tried a TDK +RW, but it would not recognise that either.
Rather strange that it at can record to a -RW disc, but not even recognise a +RW when it is stated to be a +RW recorder. The HDD recording functions work well.
I did some searching, but I couldn't find any info regarding this problem. I'm hoping someone has had some experience with this recorder, and if they have had any similar problems.
Edit:
Sorry the model is DVR, not PVR.
