DVD movie larger than DVD-R disc....how do I remove extras

I read on a tutorial somewhere that it is possable tp remove extras like commimg attractions and extra junk on DVDs and repoint the VOBs to the main menu. Anyone have this or know how to do it...please post as this is good. I think I saw it on another site but would like to see it here. I supoort this site and would like to see it grow.

I was in your same shoes a while ago. I've read so many different ways to do this and found this to be the easiest way. This method will give you just the movie and WILL even retain the chapters. The Title menu will be gone but who needs it.

1. Use Smartripper 2.41: just rip the .VOBs for the movie then I rename them accordingly to "VTS_01_1.VOB" and so on because IFOEdit creates the same IFOs. I was told this is not necassary but better safe than sorry.

2. Use IFOEdit v0.85: click "Create IFOs" and point it to the first VOB of the movie. This will create the 4 files, your VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VTS_01_0.BUP and VTS_01_0.IFO which are needed for DVD playback on set top players. This may take some time, depending on your processor. Now throw everything into a directory called VIDEO_TS

3. Burn using "DVD-ROM UFD/ISO" setting with Nero by making that VIDEO_TS the root

Forgot one last thing,

After the IFOs and BUPs are created, Click "Get VTS Sectors" and allow it to correct them and save it.
