    I authored a SVCD with VCDImager (0.7.7), when I put it in my DVD player (Apex 500a), it reconized it as a VCD1.1!

    It played fine however.

    The directory listing is
    ext
    mpeg2---------- the problem?
    svcd

    using vcddebug says svcd dected

    and here's the xml:

    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE videocd PUBLIC "-//GNU//DTD VideoCD//EN" "http://www.gnu.org/software/vcdimager/videocd.dtd">

    <videocd xmlns="http://www.gnu.org/software/vcdimager/1.0/" class="svcd" version="1.0">
    <info>
    <album-id/>
    <volume-count>1</volume-count>
    <volume-number>1</volume-number>
    <restriction>0</restriction>
    </info>
    <pvd>
    <volume-id>VCD</volume-id>
    <system-id>CD-RTOS CD-BRIDGE</system-id>
    <application-id>CDI/CDI_VCD.APP;1</application-id>
    <preparer-id/>
    <publisher-id/>
    </pvd>
    <sequence-items>
    <sequence-item src="E:\antz00.mpg" id="sequence-001"/>
    </sequence-items>
    </videocd>

    Yep, my Apex has a few loose screws.

    It will not play anything but standard bitrates for VCD, and SVCD. Over shoot the standard, no FF/RW, no A/V sync, and the picture jumps. It'll play all resolutions though

    And it doesn't care if the SVCD was author with the MPEG2 folder, or with MPEGAV

    I kept the xml, just added the filesystem folder, reburnt the bin, and it loaded as a SVCD
