Does anyone use Ulead Video Studio with DVD PlugIn ?

It makes DVDs, VCDs, SVCDs with a menu with entry points and you can add an intro video. It will also covert videos to the correct format and you can and special effects.

    Give it a try

What is "Easy SVCD" is that a program or are you asking if it's easy to do SVCDs with it? The only think I have to compare it to is Easy CD Creator. I could not make menues with Easy CD but with Video Studio is easy.

This is how it works: You open up the story board and add all you clips to it. Theny you can add specail effects like filters of transitions between clips. You can also do other types of editing with text and sound but I havn't done that. When your done with all that you do what they call "make a movie". This assembles all the clips and effects and converts it to the proper format.
One thing I dont like is that it takes a long time to convert. Seems like an hour for each 10 mins of video and it shows the % done but not an estimated time done.
Once that is done a boc comes up to pick either DVD, VCD, or SVCD. Then you go thru the video to pick entry points. When doing that you go thru the movie and pick the points you want to start chapters. Each time you pick one it adds a picture of that chapter point to a list. When done with that out pick a background photo you want to use and add text to the menu. Then you add an intro video and your done.

When the VCD plays in the DVD palyer your intro will play and then go to the menu. You can pick a chamber with the number buttons on the remote control. What ever chapter you start with the others will play right after them. They dont stop at the end of each chapter like some programs do.

I got my copy of Video Studio with DVD PlugIn in the alt.binaries.multimeda.utilitie News Group. You can d/l it from the Ulead site for about $129.00 I have not been able to find VideoPack to try. How does that compare to what I wrote above?

  5. Do you have to make entry points in that prog, Video Studio? Can u make multilevel menu's or sequences? and for the menu? is there only a text editor or can u put pictures on there as well, something like the Nero generated menu that allow for thumbnails and text?

As far as I can tell you can only make a one level menu.
You previes the video and pick your chapter points and it makes a picture of the chapter begining for the menu. You can also add text under the photo. I don't know anything about Nero since it wont work on my PC since I have Easy CD Creator and they conflict.
    Hope this answeres your question?

I'm still searching for other programs to try.

  7. yea that sounds alot like Nero's menu creator...except it lets u choose a image from somewhere in the video stream not just the beginning.

But with Nero there are no chapter points thanx

Maybe I did not explaine it correctly. Ulead does let you choose an image form the video stream for each chapter point.
