  1. Hi
I have recorded some video to dvd recorder (VIDEO_RM & VIDEO_TS folders).
    I ran those through PGC Demux, getting an AC3 Audiofile_80 & a m2v Videofile.
    Fine so far.
What I want to do now is edit that to a shorter length cutting out unwanted bits, then add more video to make a "compilation" dvd.
If I use TMPGENc DVD Author, it ends up with the video_rm & video_ts folders, which stops me adding more files (I think).
What I think I need to do is edit the audiofile & videofile created by PGCDemux to make NEW shorter audiofile & videofile (ac3 & m2v) then add them all in one go to make the compilation.
Does this make sense or am I making life more complicated than it already is?!
    Cheers
    Ian

  2. Ok, I may have sorted it out ... if there is an easier way, please let me know!!

What I did was get the original video > computer (as above).

Then I PGCDemuxed it (to get the AC3 & m2v), then TMPGENc DVD Authored it to get the edited "part 1" in dvd format (video_rm & video_ts). Then ran the edited "part 1" through PGCDemux again to get the shorter AC3 & m2v files.
Then I can do exactly the same with all the other clips I want, then add the lot together & run it through TMPGENc DVD Author to get the final DVD format with all the different bits on it.
Ok, it's a long-winded way of doing it I know, but it's the only way I could think of doing it with the programmes I've got!
If I do the above, will there be any loss in quality, or will it stay the same throughout?
