A good and easy conversion program for Mac

Hi!

I'm really new to this, so please explain step by step.

I want to make a mkv file playable in ps3 (the highest possible resulution). I want subtitles for the movie, burned in or whatever.

I've tried ffmpegx with poor resault. the picture were centered (not filling my TV) and streched out and no subtitles though I choosed filters and load subs.

I might have missed a little thing or the whole thing?

I might have installed the binaries all wrong, It would be great if I got that explained too.

Please help me out!

Easiest:
1. If you have the Perian Codec installed, then Open in Quicktime Pro,
and re-save the file as a reference .mov file.
(Your basically wrapping the .mkv in a Quicktime file.)

2. Then, go get VisualHub, and drag and drop the reference .mov file
into the PSP tab, and click convert. The QT reference .mov file
is more accepted than the .mkv in Visualhub, and should convert
easier.

If you have the time or a faster Mac, you could go back to step 1,
and export the MKV from Quicktime pro to DV Stream format,
which will smooth out anything that might hang the process
in later conversion, and then drag and drop that DV Stream
file into VisualHub to convert to PSP. ( if you have audio problems
or stuttering video after step 3, I would highly reccommend this step
to fix the issue).

Sorry, I don't know how to do this in ffmpegx.....you could post the question
in the ffmpegx forum for further help if you only want to use ffmpegx.....
