How do you rip the audio track from a VCD or SVCD? I have a VHS tape that I originally captured ~5 years ago and authored to a (S)VCD (it's been so long, I don't even remember anymore). Now that I finally have semi-pro-grade equipment (DV Pyro, TBC, S-VHS VCR w/internal TBC), I did a new video capture of the tape and want to burn it to DVD. The problem is, the tape's audio track has always been fsck'ed, and back when I made the original VCD, I remember that I spent about 6 hours fixing up the audio to make it sound ok. What I want to do is rip the audio from the old VCD, and use it as the audio track with the new vidcap. I have Adobe Premiere Elements 3 to do the actual remastering with, but I have no idea at all how to rip the audio from the VCD.
I'd like to rip the VCD to either:
* just the raw mp3 audio track(s)
OR
* an AVI file with both the video and audio that I can load into Premiere Elements, then ultimately nuke the VCD-ripped video track and VHS-captured audio tracks after I've lined them up with their counterparts.
Ideas?

Sorry, Mats, I couldn't resist. Off topic, though.
PETA is going to hunt you down for that 'Many ways to skin a cat' comment.(People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) BTW, if you do a Google search for alternative links to "PETA", you may see a interesting controversy about their domain name.
BTW, miamicanes, I use Baldrick's method, but I use VirtualDub Mod. It's seems to be easier for me with audio handling than the regular VD. -
<ot> PITA I've heard of - not PETA...</ot>

VirtualDubMod has a different way of handling audio streams than the original VirtualDub. Try going to Streams > Stream List (I'm running from memory, as I'm not on a system with VDM installed, at the moment), and see if the audio stream is listed. If so, then you can try saving it from there.

Thanks for being an asshat abrogard and digging up a 3 year old post to add needlessly to it. You couldn't just ask for help in a new thread?

If you don't like it don't suck it. 'Needless' would apply to your post, mainly. Somewhere else here I've added a comment to a thread that was begun in 2003 - I didn't read it all through but I suppose it'll be liberally larded with your illuminating comments as each new poster 'resurrected' the thread? What a charming and invaluable addition to the forum world you are.
Ai Haibara, thanks for the tip, you're right, the option to 'save wav' presents itself there somewhere. And thanks, manono, for the link to DGIndex.
