VLC player plays native HDV files from Canon HV20. But when I trim(shorten) a HDV file with TSRemux (saved as a TS file) then VLC will not play it. I get the following report: [main warning: received buffer in the future (282773051)main warning: vout warning: early picture skipped (282536013)) Nero will play it without a problem. I assume TSRemux is not setup to handle HDV. Is there a better scene trimmer out there that does not alter the original file quality? Or is there a setting on the programs I am using that will help? Thanks.

Update: TSmuxer solved the problem. I had to change the file extension from [.mpeg] to [.ts] for the program to recognize the original HDV file. The program properly cut the 10gb original movie into 4.5gb files (to store on DVD-ROM for mailing) and they play just fine with VLC. What great programs!

Also: I do have VideoReDo Plus but it does not work well with the HDV format. The output movie after editing runs choppy on both VLC and Nero 8. I'm not sure why yet. However - a great quick-unsexy way to edit HDV movies without altering the quality is to use HDVSplit to break your movie into seperate scenes, cut out the scenes you don't want (or shorten them with TSmuxer) then use the Joiner feature on VideoReDo to reassemble the scenes.
