OK, here is what I did.
Used VirtualDubMod to convert the file
I hit File and chose the VOB I wanted to convert
After loading I hit File Save As and named the file, and choose to save it as an AVI
I left all the default setting as is. It processed in Full processing mode
The original VOB file was approx 1 GB. The AVI I ended up with was 23 GB
The first 2 minutes or so played fine, but then it started to stutter, then go, then stutter then go, etc
I then fast forwarded a few minutes into the clip, and it started playing ok again for about two minutes, but then started to stutter again.
Any suggestions on how I can do a better job? I only wanted to convert to AVI so I can blend pieces of this video in with some others I have. I also would prefer to have a file that will easily play on Windows Media Player.
Thanks in advance
HB

Use a video compression, under video->compression. If you want small file size use divx or xvid(install the divx codec or xvid codec if they aren't in te list). If you want a format so you can easily edit the video use dv-avi (install for example the ceocida dv codec).
