  1. Hello,
    In Vegas 8: I use mainconcept AVC AAC to render an MP4 video with the h264 codec, but I didn't see any option for 5.1 surround sound?

    file render as ac-pro and change the custom options to 5.1, to get ac-3 5.1 audio.

    Only problem is that the MP4 container won't allow AC3 You can try muxing to a TS file (which will allow 5.1 AC3) with an app like TSmuxer

    is any 5.1 allowed? your other choices would be dts, 6ch wav, or 6ch aiff, i can't think of any more.

    AAC is permitted. That's the most common one, although the channel mapping is slightly different than AC3 from what I recall.
