The defaults work just fine for most burning situations.Originally Posted by leda

If you get the Made In India ones (ID: MKM-003-00), I believe they support 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8x. These discs seem to be a bit less-consistent in some cases, from what I've read, so you might start with one of the lower speeds.
Of course, the speeds you're able to burn at also depend on what your drive supports. Make sure you have the latest firmware for it. Imgburn should list what speeds the media/drive combination support. -
Correct for DVD+R DL burning. However, DVD-R DL has a special setting called "Use Layer Jump Recording" that probably should be turned on. I say probably because I know that Layer Jump is the right strategy for DVD-R DL burning, but I used an older version of ImgBurn a couple of years ago when I burned the only 3 DVD-R DL discs I've ever burned and that option was not available then, so I have no personal experience with it. Layer Jump is WRONG for DVD+R DL and should NOT be used when burning those discs. When I burned, it was also necessary at the time to manually set the layer break for the mid point of the DVD-R DL disc and this is not necessary for DVD+R DL discs where ImgBurn is smart enough to compute the layer break for you. These things are part of the reasons why I don't recommend DVD-R DL discs.Originally Posted by Jim44
