Normally I capture with VirtualDub using the HuffyUV codec. Since I'm on Win98, I have VirtualDub capture to multiple files. Now the frameserving question. When I frameserve to TMPGEnc should I serve up all files and then cut the mpg down to fit on multiple cd's or should I only serve up what is needed for one cd then serve the rest later?
Thanks,
The Diver

Serve up the whole thing all at once (keep appending and adding all your parts in Vdub) then when you set up your project files in TMPG, use your SOURCE RANGE feature to create it's different parts - ie mpg01.mpg mpg02.mpg,etc

I agree almost completely. The only correction I'd like to make is that virtualdub should automatically pickup all the segments if you load the first one, and have multisegmenting enabled, so there is no need to append the files.
(I am assuming you are using multisegment capture, and not manually capturing to mutiple files...if not, give it a try, it will make your life a lot easier)
If your total file size will make an MPEG bigger than you want, then use the source range selection to control how much you send in each go. I'm not certain, but I think that if you take the virtualdub generated segments independently, you could have some problems (maybe audio synch??) due to the way the files are handled.
