You wont find any easy method for it. Check the hddvd/bluray forum over at http://forum.doom9.org or just BUY a bluray player .

In theory it can be done, but there are huge problems to overcome.

    1) Current BD+ BluRay titles (The Simpsons are one such example) cannot currently be re-encoded.
    2) HD DVD burners are virtually impossible to find. If you find one, it will cost a fortune. Good luck finding the media too.
    3) Assuming you can re-encode the BluRay disc and you have HD DVD authoring software, you could burn to DVD DL disc. The HD DVD spec supports it. The downside is that the currently available HD DVD players don't play these discs, even though technically they probably should. You're going to end up with a disc that for now is ONLY watchable on a PC.

If you must do this, go to Doom9 as Baldrick says. You'll have to do an awful lot of AviSynth script writing and manual work. There are no DVDShrink type applications to do this kind of thing easily for you.

Red laser media plays fine in HD DVD set tops. You'll need to convert the file structure of the BD encode first - not an easy task.

DVD DL discs (DVD+R DL and DVD-R DL a.k.a. DVD-9) certainly work, yes. I have tested both. However, I was talking specifically about HD DVD format on DVD DL discs, which the current players do NOT support at all.

You are correct in pointing out that the BD file structure needs to be converted first. I forgot to mention that this was not easy to do.
